Tricia Keffer
is a Kama'aina (born in Hawaii, not of Hawaiian heritage). Her love
of the beach probably started at her birth in Honolulu in the "pink
hospital on the hillside" that overlooked Waikiki Beach and Honolulu.
If given the option, she would have remained beachside but the military
had other ideas and her family moved to New England. It was only a
few years before Uncle Sam's wishes and Tricia's dreams once again
coincided. The family moved to the Destin, Florida area where Tricia
has remained.
The white sand
beaches of the Emerald coast captivated Tricia. She was fascinated
at the way the sand looked like snow but was warm. Tricia cherishes
fond memories of running on the beach, playing in the water, and watching
serene sunsets. Photography was a natural outgrowth of wanting to
hold on to those golden memories.
She now helps
her clients hold on to their memories using the beach as the perfect
setting for family or children's portraits.
A graduate of
the University of West Florida, Tricia received further training in
her craft through a rigorous apprenticeship under a master photographer.
Her natural photography
is soulful expression of her personal relationship with nature. She
says "For me nature photography not only preserves the natural
beauty of the area, it is also a history--a photo documentary."
Her photographs have been published in FLAUSA, BAE calendar and Homes
& Land of the Emerald Coast.
Today Tricia continues
her love of the beach. She notes "I love photographing the beach.
I love meeting new people. My beach photography is the perfect blend
of these two loves. The area has such natural beauty and the combination
of families and the beach creates a work of art."
Tricia's expertise
in medium format cameras, film, and equipment allows her to produce
professional wall portraits for the home and office. A member of the Destin
Area Chamber of Commerce, she has all required licenses and permits
for beach photography. She welcomes scheduled visits to her studio
and gallery in Destin, FL.
